•General
-What kind of battery is used in the Freedom units?
-All the Freedom units use rechargeable lead-acid "gel cell" batteries that are chemically identical to
standard automotive batteries. Silica has been added to jellify the sulphuric acid, helping immobilize the
acid, making the batteries leak resistant and usable in almost any position.

-Can I really get the battery life you claim in your advertisements?
-Yes! The published battery life is rated conservatively at full power. So even if you use the unit at full
power, you will get a little more battery life than listed in our advertisements and specifications. If you
use the unit at less than full power, you can easily get 2-3 times as much battery life per charge.

-How do I charge the Freedom batteries?
-Use the external power supply included with your Freedom component. Plug the power supply into an AC
outlet, and then insert the coaxial plug into the power jack on the control panel of your unit. That’s it! A
power management microprocessor inside the unit controls all of the charging functions to make sure
the batteries are maintained at their ideal voltage. Initially the "CHARGE" LED will glow red, indicating
that the battery is being actively recharged. Once the battery is fully charged, the "CHARGE" LED will
glow green, indicating that the battery is on "float" charge, and supplied with just enough current to
keep it "topped off." It is impossible to over-charge the battery, and you can leave it plugged in
indefinitely without damaging the battery.

-How many times can I recharge the batteries?
-Like other battery types, lead-acid batteries can be recharged safely up to 1,000 times with minimal loss
of storage capacity. This means you could use the battery until it is completely drained, and then
recharge it, every day for 3 years.
